frequently asked questions:

How much does counseling cost? It costs $145 per session, and each session lasts 50 minutes.

Do I have to schedule a session every week?  It all depends upon your situation and needs.  A treatment plan will be discussed with Dr. Garrett.  Some clients need weekly sessions, others may prefer every other week, and yet some may only need monthly sessions.  It also depends upon the type of counseling received.  Some college counseling clients may only need one or two sessions, while others may benefit from regular sessions.  Dr. Garrett will work with you to determine what schedule is best for your situation.

Do you accept insurance? Not at this time, but you can request a Super bill that can be submitted to your insurance company.

Is it true you offer evening and weekend appointments? Yes, Dr. Garrett began this practice as a way to make receiving mental health services more accessible and convenient for individuals, students, and parents.

Is telehealth counseling private and secure?  Yes, Dr. Garrett utilizes a HIPAA compliant platform to conduct counseling sessions, and interactions with clients.  It is important though that the client make sure to be in a private area where others cannot hear what is being discussed.  Dr. Garrett will discuss privacy protocols with clients before sessions begin.

If I am a prior or current client, how do I request my healthcare records?  You can request them directly from Dr. Garrett.  You can request them through the Simple Practice Patient Portal.

If I wanted to contact the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council how would I do this?  You can contact them through their website at - https://bhec.texas.gov/contact-us/

What site would I visit to file a formal complaint?  The Attorney General's Consumer Protection webpage - https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/consumer-protection
